Declaration of the President of OMAEC

The World Organisation of Former Students of Catholic Education – OMAEC – expresses its solidarity with the desolation, sadness and pain of the Venezuelan people due to the difficult institutional, political and social situation that their nation is experiencing. It deeply regrets that their democratic system is at serious risk, that life, liberty and other fundamental rights are being violated without any justification.

We make our own the pain of many former students of Catholic education, who have been victims of illegal detentions and arbitrary mistreatment.

We ask in the name of the Lord Jesus, who for the truth was mistreated, tortured and killed, that the violence cease and that the will of the majority of the Venezuelan people to live in peace, development, prosperity and above all in unity, as the great Venezuelan family that it is, be recognised.

Our admiration and respect to the brave people!

The OMAEC urges all the living forces of the world to protest firmly against such outrages, and wishes all of Venezuela great blessings, so that, hand in hand with Our Lady, the Virgin of Coromoto, it will be possible to overcome this painful situation.
